Assessment Methods

The methods available to teaching faculty for in-course assessment of outcomes can be managed.

 

If neither the Student-level Data or LMS Integration option has been licensed, the system will default to the Aggregate Score Counts method.

 

Depending on features licensed, these methods are:

 

•Aggregate score counts - the count of students at each threshold level (e.g. met, exceeded, not met) can be input.

•Alignment with LMS Gradebook column - the outcome can be aligned with a gradebook column in the LMS and student scored pulled

•Direct entry of student scores - the score for each student in the course can be input.

•Rubric linked to the outcome - each student in the course can be scored using the rubric associated with the outcome.

•Teaching faculty can set - the teaching faculty member can select from one of the available methods.

•Not scored in this semester - the outcome is not assessed in the current semester.

 

Check the Available parameter to make the method available. Select the Default parameter to make the method the default selection.

 

The method for GenEd and Program outcomes can be set in the outcomes library. See Outcomes > Methods.

The method can also be set for Course outcomes.

 

The label for each threshold (e.g. met, exceeded, not met) is set when the assessment module is installed.

Demographics

Demographic data types can be defined, along with related values and then associated with students, either on-screen or via import.

 

Reports

The header, footer and title page of the PDF assessment report can be customized.

 

Workflow Progress Report in Portal

Check the parameter to allow specific portal users to access progress reports.

 

Workflow Default Rubric

Check the parameter to enable the scorer comment field for assessment rubrics in a workflow.

 

Workflow Student Source

The default source of students for a new workflow can be set. This avoids having to select the source each time a workflow is created.

If the student source is Open List, check the parameter to allow students to be added while a workflow has a status of Scoring.
